Now as we know the error was caused due to the failure of the wordpress update we will manually update the wordpress.
To manually update your wordpress we will have to download the latest version of wordpress from wordpress.org then upload all the files to your server.
Once you have successfully updated your wordpress you will have to delete the file '.maintenance' from your server wordpress directory.
